Prayer has the power to transform communities and nations. Christ’s Church is joining believers around the world to pray for revival in Spain and mobilize churches to plant new ones. Though rich in Christian history, more than 97% of Spaniards don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. But God is writing a new story for Spain and we get to play a role in that story.

A Vision for 1,700 Churches

Christ’s Church is committed to the SPAIN 1700 Initiative, a ten-year vision to plant 100 churches in each of Spain’s 17 regions, totaling 1,700 new churches. It’s bold, but God is already moving through prayer and partnership.

This Summer: A Wave of Prayer and Evangelism

Over 70 members and friends of Christ’s Church joined the mission in Spain, prayer walking through all 17 regions. The effort launched with 15 CC students who served in Granada with CIY Engage and Team Expansion, led by Gabo and Dionna Ayala. In a city where fewer than 1% of residents are evangelical Christians, they walked, prayed and encouraged local believers while learning how to share their faith and tell God’s story.

This Fall: Encouraging the Church in Spain

In October, Pastor Jason traveled to Spain to encourage pastors, strengthen partnerships and build momentum for the movement.

The mission is to remind those serving in one of Europe’s most spiritually dry regions that they are not alone. Later this year, more than 20 churches and organizations will meet at Christ’s Church to collaborate with Spanish leaders on strategies to reach the goal of 1,700 churches by 2034—a model now being studied for other global church-planting efforts.
